About Us

Ride the Brand. Trust the Standard.

Miles and Alicia both grew up in ranching families where early mornings, long days, and livestock chores weren’t optional they were a way of life. Responsibility was learned young. Work ethic was expected. And respect for land, livestock, and handshake agreements was instilled long before adulthood. Those roots shaped everything.

Miles was raised horseback learning cattle, horses, and the value of staying quiet and getting the job done. He carries a deep respect for tradition, horsemanship, and the kind of integrity that doesn’t need to announce itself.

Alicia grew up in the same rhythm of ranch life understanding that animals require consistency, that weather doesn’t care about your plans, and that family operations survive because everyone shows up. That foundation of grit and accountability carried with her into entrepreneurship and building businesses from the ground up.

As high school sweethearts, they didn’t just build a marriage they built a life centered around faith and family, raising good kids with strong values, raising good horses with purpose, doing business the right way, protecting legacy while creating growth.

Their shared upbringing in ranching families means they understand both the romance and the reality of this life. It’s early mornings in freezing wind. It’s dust and sweat in the summer heat. It’s sacrifice, reinvestment, and betting on long term vision over short term comfort. Werner Equine reflects those roots blending traditional ranch values with forward thinking business strategy to create a program built on integrity, longevity, and family legacy.

This isn’t just what they do. It’s who they’ve always been.

Our Story

Miles was born and raised in Central Wyoming, a fifth generation ranching family where work ethic isn’t taught it’s lived. From a young age, he was horseback gathering cattle, fixing fence, and learning that responsibility comes before recognition.

Raised in true Wyoming fashion, Miles developed a deep respect for livestock, land, and the quiet discipline that ranch life requires. Team roping became second nature timing, feel, and precision built through years in the arena and on the ranch. Colt starting was never rushed, it was grounded in patience, consistency, and understanding a horse’s mind before asking for its body. His horsemanship reflects generations before him practical, honest, and built to last. There’s no flash without foundation. No shortcuts. Just steady, intentional work.

Alicia was born and raised in Western South Dakota, where ranch life shaped her from the very beginning. Her dad was a working ranch hand for most of her life. Eventually, her parents settled on the family ranch. Horses were always part of her world, but when she and Miles started their family, Alicia made the intentional decision to step away from the saddle for nearly ten years to focus on raising their kids. For her, motherhood wasn’t a side role it was the priority. Those years were spent building a home, supporting the vision, and investing in the next generation.

Recently, Alicia has stepped back into the arena this time venturing into the cow horse side of the industry. What started as a return has grown into a true passion. She has embraced the challenge, the precision, and the discipline that cow horse demands, and she’s enjoyed every part of learning and evolving in the process.

Her journey reflects resilience and growth proof that stepping away doesn’t mean stepping back forever. It simply means seasons shift.
